Ja Rule New Federal Release Date Is Set For July 28th 2013, He Will Be a Free Man!! -- Ja Rule’s prison release date has been revealed via the Wall Street Journal. Federal authorities confirmed that Ja, real name Jeffrey Atkins will be released on July 28th 2013.
Ja was released from Mid-State correctional facility on Thursday February 21st after completing a 20 month sentence for attempted gun possession but was immediately transferred to federal custody to serve the remainder of a tax evasion case.
Ja will serve the remaining 4 months in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre before finally being released.
