Drake welcomed the long awaited OVO Fest 2012....After debuting his posthumous duet with Aaliyah, Drake entertained a sold-out crowd at his third annual OVO Fest in his hometown of Toronto on Sunday (Aug. 5). According to Billboard, a bevy of hip-hop luminaries joined the Canadian superstar onstage including Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, the Weeknd, Rick Ross and Waka Flocka Flame.
Drake ended the show with hometown anthem ‘Headlines.’ “Every year, I feel like this is my motherf—ing birthday,” he told the audience. Judging by this star-studded event, it certainly was a celebration to behold.

DRAKE TO GO BACK TO FINISH SCHOOL !!
A child actor on popular Canadian teen series Degrassi: The Next Generation from the age of 15 to 22, Drake never finished high school. But now that he’s on a break from recording albums and touring, the Toronto native has decided to finish what he started.“I’m actually spending my summer graduating high school,” he said in a recent interview with Now Toronto. “That’s my main focus after OVO Fest. I only have one credit left, and I’m really excited about that.”
Drake isn’t the only Canadian breakout star to go after his high school degree this year. In July, Justin Bieber graduated from St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford, Ontario, after taking courses electronically.

Snoop Dogg‘s new reggae persona, Snoop Lion, performed over the weekend at theOsheaga Festival in Montreal, where he treated festival attendees to the first-ever live version of his new single, ‘La La La.’
Snoop Lion looked the part, with a Rasta hat and a black tshirt with his own face on it in the reggae colors of red, green and yellow. He took the stage smoking something that looked suspiciously like an illegal substance — although we know Snoop would never do such a thing. Between puffs, he sang the laid-back tune and invited the crowd to sing along with the deceptively-catchy hook.
‘La La La’ will appear on Snoop’s next release, ‘Reincarnated,’ which documents his transformation from rapper to reggae champion. Snoop said in a statement that he “wanted to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion,” although he reportedly included some old rap hits like ‘Gin and Juice’ in his Osheaga set. Also, we feel obligated to point out that Snoop still used his giant custom-made “Snoop Dogg” microphone. Hey, that thing probably cost a lot of dough, so who can blame him for wanting to get his money’s worth?
Diplo and Major Lazer are among the big-name producers who worked on the new record. A documentary about Snoop’s life-changing experiences in Jamaica, to be released in conjunction with the album, will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in early September

Toni Braxton has had her fair share of financial troubles over the years. She’s landed in more financial hot water because she’s being sued by an advertising company for defaulting on payments for posters advertising her hit WEtv reality showBraxton Family Values.
A company named National Promotions & Advertising went to L.A. County Superior Court to file a lawsuit against Toni Braxton and the rest of the producers of Braxton Family Values, alleging they had a contract with the show to promote the second season of the series.The ad company claims they posted 4,300 posters around the country and they were supposed to receive $57, 322.29 for their services.
RIHANNA DRIVES AROUND BARBADOS WITH OPRAH
Rihanna took a drive around her homeland of Barbados today. No big deal. In the passenger seat was Oprah. Very. Big. Deal.
The major moment was captured in a photo and tweeted to Oprah’s Twitter account. “Look who’s driving me around Barbados!” the media queen wrote. “Look who popped up in my Hometown BARBADOS #topnotch,” Rih added.
Later, O tweeted another photo. “@rihanna and I finishing up interview . What a refreshing surprise she is!”
The pair are hanging out together in Barbados shooting Rihanna’s episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter. The special, which will feature an intimate interview with the pop megastar where her career got started, will air on OWN on August 19.

Music legend Stevie Wonder wants a judge to sign, seal and deliver a divorce.
The Motown megastar is pulling the plug on his decade-long marriage to fashion designer Kai Millard Morris, a rep confirmed to the Daily News.
“Today Stevland Morris filed for divorce, ending his marriage to Kai Millard Morris,” a statement from the rep said. “As this is a private and personal matter, he asks that the public and the media kindly respect the privacy of Kai, his children, and family at this time.”The Grammy winner, whose hits include “Superstition,” “I Just Called to Say I Love You” and “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours,” has been separated from Morris since October 2009, the paperwork obtained by TMZ states.
Wonder, 62, cited irreconcilable differences and signed the docs July 26 with two fingerprints.
He’s requesting joint custody of the couple’s two sons, Kailand and Mandla, ages 10 and 7.
